Train Festival at The Depot
- Volunteering
Sign-up On-line Now
- Time commitment: Work one 4-hour shift, the entire
festival, or any number of 4-hour shifts during the festival.
- Training: A volunteer training session will be
held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21st at The Depot .
- Rewards: In addition to the satisfaction of participating
in a fun, educational community event, all volunteers receive an
official Train Festival shirt, free admittance to the
festival and lunch if you work more than one shift. Typically there
is a volunteer appreciation party in September.
- Plus you will get 4 free VIP passes for
your family and friends.
- High school students: Need community service
credit? The Train Festival is a non-profit event and we can provide
service credit hours for having fun with trains.

Volunteer Positions
(Prior to and after the festival)
- Planning Coordinators: Help with the festival
planning prior to the event during June, July and August
- Organizational Coordinators: Help organize the
materials and files, thank others for their work and finalize during
September and October
During the festival
- Docents: Learn about The Depot, various train
cars and historical artifacts and explain to visitors about them
- Festival Greeters: Greet visitors as they come
into the festival, give them a program guide and know that you were the
beginning of their good time
- Children’s Activities: By helping the children
have fun you too will have fun
- Information Center Staff: Assist visitors with
locating what they need and encourage them to sign up for the raffle
and door
prizes
- Souvenir Sales: Sell T-shirts and other souvenir
items during the festival
- Snack bar: Sell snacks and beverages during the
festival
- Parking Assistant: Help direct people on where
to park their cars
Immediately before and after
the festival
- Set up crew: Set-up and teardown tables, chairs
and equipment for the festival.
Set up is on Friday, 10:00
am
- 6:00 pm; teardown is Sunday, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
